Tatcha Pore-Perfecting Duo

(This post is lacking in the photography department. I threw away one of the products because I had used it in an empties video, so I can’t picture it today. Oops.)

I have recently taken an interest in Tatcha skincare, so when I saw this “Pore-Perfecting” duo for only $25 at Sephora, I picked it up!

This set includes a trial size of the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse exfoliating cleanser (50 ml/1.7 fl. oz.) and the ever popular Tatcha The Water Creme (10 ml/ 0.34 fl. oz.).

The quality of these two products is absolutely exceptional!

The Water Creme

The Water Creme adds a beautiful weightless hydration to the skin. It is perfect for oily skin, and has not bothered my sensitive skin either. This product has a light, fresh scent, and is very enjoyable to use. It is by far the best moisturizer that I have ever tried personally, and along with that big statement comes a big $68 price tag!

I think this product is worth $68, but I did go through this creme much more quickly than the cleanser, so I fear that I will go through the full size of this product too quickly to justify the price.

I am very glad that it is included in this $25 set as it gives many the opportunity to use this product without paying the full size price.

The Deep Cleanse

This cleanser exfoliates and brightens the skin wonderfully! It also helps remove excess oil from the skin without being too harsh. I do really enjoy this cleanser, and the $38 price tag seems much more reasonable than that of The Water Creme.

I could absolutely see myself purchasing the full size of this cleanser. I don’t mind spending a bit more for a good cleanser, because I do have oily, yet sensitive skin, and this just does a wonderful job of brightening and evening things out.

This duo from Sephora has been an excellent way for me to try out the Tatcha brand, and I have to tell you, I have fallen in love with it!

The quality of these products is excellent! Though I may not purchase the full size of The Water Creme, I may repurchase this Pore-Perfecting Duo.

These sizes are perfect for travel, and a great way to incorporate Tatcha into my skincare routine without paying $110 for both full size products all at once.

If you’ve been wanting to try the Tatcha brand, give this duo a try!

I love it!

I hope your week has started off well, and if it hasn’t, the week is not over yet, so hopefully it will get better!๐Ÿ˜˜

My Thoughts on the Beauty Creations Brand + A Quick, Bright Eye Tutorial

Happy Friday!

I have tried two products from a small beauty brand called Beauty Creations recently, and in all honesty, I think two products is enough for me!

I can not recommend this brand based on the experience that I have had with their products.

I tried a liquid lipstick from them that strongly smelled of chemicals, and burned my lips! It took weeks for my lips to heal!

And then there’s the Esmeralda I eyeshadow palette. (My Palette was misprinted so it says “Emerald” instead of “Esmeralda”.)

Though I do like the looks that I have created with this palette, I just don’t feel that the quality is there.

The lighter shades aren’t quite as pigmented as I would like, (not as pigmented as Juvia’s Place, Colourpop, or ABH) and the darker shades are patchy and hard to blend.

Overall, I can work with this palette and get it to work for me, but these shadows are a bit dry, and just leave me wanting more.

I just can not recommend this brand.๐Ÿ™

I don’t want to leave you guys with a super short post, so grab your brushes and create this simple, tropical inspired eye look!

(I ate a bowl of oranges and pineapple right before I did my makeup, and that may have influenced my color choice.๐Ÿ˜‚)

Eye Tutorial

1. Apply an orange shade into the crease and onto the lower lash line. (Because this palette is not very pigmented, I ended up with a more pastel look, but you could use more pigmented shadows for a brighter, more neon effect.)

2. Apply a mango shade to the entire lid.

3. Apply a light, yellow gold shade to the inner corners.

4. Using a damp, angled liner brush, apply a deep gold shimmer to the lash line as a winged liner. (I have loved using shimmer shadows as winged liner lately!)

5. Apply mascara.

That’s all there is to this little tropical look!

As always, I hope this post was informative and inspirational, and I hope you have a great weekend!

Laura Geller: I Tried It Again

Sorry for my absence on Monday. I have been really really under the weather, but the good news is I am feeling better now!

A long, long time ago, I reviewed some makeup products from Laura Geller on my YouTube channel. It had been a while since I had used these products, so I pulled them out of my collection and gave them another go.

I have been testing these out again over the past few weeks, and I have definitely developed some opinions.

I want to give you my updated thoughts on these products today.

Spackle Hydrating Primer- $32 for 2 fl. oz.

(They have updated the packaging on this one, so mine looks a little bit different.)

This primer has a thin, lotion-like consistency, and gives a thin, lotion-like hydration.

I like to use this primer when I forget to apply my daily moisturizer because it does add some hydration.

I can’t tell a dramatic difference in the longevity of my makeup when I wear this, but interestingly enough, the packaging never claims that this primer will do that.

It does say, “Wear under foundation for perfect make-up application.”

Perfect application is a big statement, but I do feel that my makeup goes on smoothly over this primer because it hydrates my skin very nicely.

I do enjoy using this, and I do think this is a good primer.

Baked Balance N Brighten Foundation in “Fair”- $34 for 0.32 oz./9 g.

I have this in the shade “Fair” and it is not fair. This shade is way too dark and orange for my skin tone, so you may want to go a shade lighter if you decide to purchase this one.

I do think there are some positives with this one though.

I feel like this powder does look pretty natural on the skin, but it does crease in fine lines as my natural oils come through the product throughout the day.

You also get a lot of product with this one. It takes a long time to use up this powder foundation.

Overall, I think this product is nice, but just remember to go a shade lighter!

Baked Blush N Brighten in “Pink Grapefruit”- $28 for 0.16 oz./4.5 g.

I have just about the same thoughts on this blush, as I did about the foundation.

This looks beautiful on the skin, and you get a lot of product, but the shade is problematic.

This blush is super pigmented, so definitely use a light hand when applying this! When this is first applied it looks absolutely beautiful, but it does oxidize on my skin, and ends up looking like a bronzer shade by the end of the day.

It still looks pretty after oxidizing, but I just have to keep that it mind when applying my makeup, so I can choose colors that will look nice with the initial shade and the oxidized shade.

I hope these three little reviews were helpful. These products from Laura Geller are good quality. It’s just tricky to figure out which shades are best for me.

Today’s Verse:

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

My Favorite Spring and Summer Hair Product!

This post is another short and sweet one! I am feeling better, but I’m not completely over my sickness yet!

I just wanted to show some love to the hair product that I have been using for years: the Aussie Sprunch Hairspray.

Here’s a simple list of reasons why I have used this product season after season:

-It smells fruity!

-It helps to define waves in my hair. (I have very thin, fine hair, so this does not actually scrunch my hair to the extent that it is intended.)

-It is non-aerosol, so I don’t choke on the product every time I use it!

-One bottle lasts me a long time!

I love to braid my hair when it is damp, let it dry, remove the braids, and then use this spray to define my waves.

I really really like this product, and is my go to for beach waves!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little post!

Have a GREAT WEEKEND!๐Ÿ’–

My Favorite Facial Cleanser for Sick Day Skin

I am currently battling some kind of sickness, that includes a fever, nausea, and all of that. I notice that when I am sick, my skin gets dull and uneven, and overall, just blah.

So, I wanted to quickly share today, my favorite exfoliating cleanser to brighten up my complexion after a sickness.

This little guy is my second sample of the Skin & Co. Roma Truffle Therapy Face Gommage. (I received both samples in my monthly Ipsy Glambag.)

This post should be short and sweet because I feel like it absolutely does what it claims.

The packaging states:

“Truffle Therapy Face Gommage is Enriched with Grounded Apricot Kernel to gently & naturally buff away dry & dull skin. This innovative formula is lotion based which provides ultra-hydration and protects the skin during the exfoliation process. The Gommage is formulated with Pure Truffle Extract and Sweet Almond Oil to help maintain the skin’s natural moisture and provides anti-reddening properties.”

I can say that after using this product my skin is smoother, brighter, more moisturized, and not irritated at all!

I definitely think this one is worth the $26 full price, as I usually spend about that much on my facial cleansers due to sensitive skin.

It works, and is enjoyable to use. What else could I want?

Thanks for reading through this one! I’m going to try to get some rest now!

Playing With Makeup: LAVENDER!

Ok you guys, I have been absolutely obsessed with the color lavender recently, and I just needed to play with all of the lavender goodies that I had picked up.

So, I pulled those items out of my collection, along with my Tarte Palm Trees and Ocean Breeze custom palette, and created a very simple, but very lavender makeup look.

To create this look:

1. Apply a black (or deep gray) shade into the crease, and onto the lower lash line. (This shadow is from the “Charcoal Smokes” quad from CoverGirl, I think!)

Typically, I would have applied a matte shade into the crease, but I found that this shimmer shade added a nice bit of subtle dimension.

2. Apply a lavender shimmer shade to the entire lid. (I used the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in “A Whole New World”.)

3. Apply an ivory/golden shimmer to the inner corner. (I used the Ulta Beauty single shadow in “Whatevs”, which is one of my favorite inner corner highlights!)

4. Apply mascara! (I chose to skip liner today, because I liked the simplicity of this look, and didn’t want to overpower the lid shade.)

That’s all there is to the eye look that I created! I wanted to keep it fairly simple because of the next two products that I used.

I also used the CoverGirl Demi Matte Lipstick in the shade “Bestie Boo”! How fun is this!

If you want to purchase a fun colored lipstick, I would recommend this formula because it is fairly affordable, it smells slightly like marshmallows, and it’s not drying on the lips!

I do want to point out that this shade can tend to sheer out after it’s on the lips for a while, so you do have to reapply often.

The last lavender product that I used today is this Nomad Cosmetics Highlighter in “Moonlight”.

Again, I just thought this would be fun to play with. It gives an iridescent purple look to the high points of the face that is absolutely stunning!

It does fade a bit by the end of the day on my oily complexion, so just note that.

I was very happy with how this makeup look turned out! It’s definitely a statement, but it’s also very simple. I just love creating something a little bit different sometimes!

This was so fun to create, but I am still not out of my little lavender phase, so I may be wearing more in the future!

I hope you guys enjoyed!

I know, I know, I haven’t shut up about the YouTube giveaway since it opened, but I did want to mention it one last time because the giveaway ends at midnight tonight (EST), so check out my video below!

Monthly Wrap Up | How Was Your March?

I want to start doing a short post towards the end of each month, and reflect on how that month has been.

Sometimes it is helpful to vent. Other times it is helpful to just take a step back and assess how I’ve been doing.

And I find that I often learn from times of reflection.

I do intend to keep these posts rather brief. I want to say fewer things, with more value.

March has been a month of plans, growth, and assessment for me.

Particularly with YouTube, I have done some immense planning. I prefilmed two weeks worth of videos, and used my filming time over those two weeks to make some improvements to my channel.

These are paying off greatly! I have worked on my channel art, editing style, and content, and I feel like I am in a place where I can be proud of the videos that I am putting out, while still continuing to learn.

These moments of planning have been one hundred percent worth it.

As for the moments of assessment, I am still working on those. I am really trying to reflect on my life. I have some decisions to make, and I am trying to draw wisdom from my past, as well as think about my future. I have a feeling that this season of assessment may take a little while, but it’s all in God’s hands, and I am so thankful for that.

Take a look at some of the progress that I have been making below!๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป
